How will Joe Biden handle Foreign Policy? He is a self-professed expert on the subject although many people knowledgeable in this area have asserted, he has been wrong on almost every foreign policy issue over the last forty years. Let’s look at some resent history for example. He voted against the 1991 Gulf War to expel Saddam Hussain from Kuwait our ally. He voted for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Then when things were going badly, he voted against the surge and instead suggested Iraq be carved up into three separate countries. Great idea! Biden voted against Obama’s surge of troops to Afghanistan. In 2011 he agreed with and oversaw the premature pullout of U.S. troops from Iraq which brought about the rise of Isis. This was to fulfill an Obama campaign promise. Another foreign policy coup for Joe and his buddy Barak. He was against the raid to take out Osama Bin Laden. What a gutsy call! The only time Obama showed any grit. He concurred with Barak Obama’s decision to do nothing about the Russian invasion of Crimea, or Ukraine. In the case of Ukraine, they only gave them blankets and MREs to assist in defending themselves. They also did nothing when Russia shot down a civilian airliner over Ukraine, killing all on board. Not even weak sanctions for show purposes to give the appearance that they were doing something. It would seem he didn’t want to anger Putin. Then comes the 2016 elections where we’re told that Trump colluded with Russia, but as it turns out there was no evidence. What we do know is that any Russian interference happened on the Biden-Obama watch. What did they do? Nothing at all to stop it and only minor sanctions which amounted to nothing. As I said NOTHING. Oh, my mistake they did blame it on Trump. Joe Biden’s hard-nosed rhetoric on Russia should be seen for what it is rhetoric. His policies toward Russia will be no different than Obama’s. A lot of talk and a misguided attempt to achieve a global conscientious. Putin will show the same contempt for Biden as he did for Obama because they are weak and Putin only respects strength. Biden will be tested early in his tenure and he will bluster and, in the end, do nothing. Every adversary will see what an easy mark he is, and the media will praise his diplomatic nuance. Come to think of it, has Biden ever had an original idea in his entire tenure in Washington? Forty-Seven years is a lot plagiarism. He can’t even steal ideas that work!
We have been told by Biden that he will be harder on China than Trump. Or is that “hard for China”? Oh sorry, that’s the old touchy-feely Joe that doesn’t exist anymore. However, Biden is short on specifics and the media seems unwilling to ask Biden for details. His tough rhetoric on both China and Russia sound good but have no basis in fact. Even in an Obama Administration not known for strong foreign policy positions, Biden stood out for his dovishness on National Security issues. Joe has said he will lift the Trump tariffs on China. Favoring a more broad-based coalition of democracies in lieu of tariffs to address China’s increasingly aggressive trade practices. Again, no particulars and no curiosity from the media about this means. Biden is giving away the only leverage the U.S. had that China understood Power! Whether the Democrat want to admit it or not this is a zero-sum game. This is more of that “Soft Power” globalism tripe that sound good but achieves nothing. Oh, now I remember it’s “Leading from Behind”, appropriate given the Democrat mascot is a Jackass. What a load of crap. Wait excuse me, I don’t want to offend Democrat sensibilities what a bag of manure. Our enemies and allies will be walking all over us again in no time. Just as they did under the previous Administration. It’s no wonder they’re giddy boarding on hysterical laughter about the prospects of Joe Biden’s Administration. Our allies will no longer be compelled to meet the responsibilities to their own defense and our enemies will do as they please while Biden tries to organize a global “Summit on Democracy” or some such waste of time. This would be nothing more than back slapping and speech making. I will venture no coalition will be created. China will pick off potential members one at a time with sweetheart deals and Joe will be standing there with his hands in his pockets. He’ll turn his back on Taiwan as has each previous Democrat Administration to placate Beijing and we’ll be back to business as usual. Joe has brag about his close relationship with China and for all his posturing is clearly sympathetic to China. China will steal from us, spy on us and Biden will stand there bewildered not knowing what went wrong.
I’ve yet to mention Iran and its ability to destabilize the Middle East which has been kept in check by Trump’s successful sanctions. Four years ago, Trump was told by Obama that North Korea was the most pressing global problem. We’ve heard little or nothing from them lately due to Trump’s policies. Biden says he’ll handle these situations differently. I’m interested to see how this will work out given Biden’s national security team will be come from the Obama national security team.
Then there is the economic component with higher taxes on business and “the rich” this will create the same effect as the previous Administration’s tax policies. Federal revenues will fall due to capital flight and reduced investments. So, the question is where does Joe get the money for his domestic programs? Well the answer is obvious from the “Defense Budget”. The Democrats have always believed that Defense spending should be cut drastically and will happily slash it to the bone. Again, Democrats make us vulnerable on the world stage because they are naïve and believe defense spending should be minimal. God help us when a war or another 9-11 happens with them in office. The mainstream media will happily keep their mouths shut in return for an occasional softball interview. Now that’s Troubling!!!
