Recently I’ve been thinking about the main-stream media and the White House corps specifically. The only subject that interests them more than President Trump is themselves. They are obsessed with their access to the presidents every move whether it’s private or not. This is a recent development. It didn’t happen during the prior administration. There was no daily obsession with the former first family. We hear nightly about White House press briefings or the press gaggles. A press gaggle is an informal press briefing usually given by the White House Press Secretary and the term originated in 1993-1994 in President Bill Clinton’s Administration. I find it amusing that the word “gaggle” is used because of its’ association with geese. A gaggle of geese. A gaggle may have been appropriate in the Clinton White House but since then I believe other terms should have been used. During the Bush Administration the informal press briefing should have been called a press echo after an echo of mockingbirds. A mockingbird is particularly territorial and prone to dive bombing anything they find threatening. The media was constantly pecking at and harassing the Press Secretary and the President at every opportunity. Conversely during the Obama administration that briefing could have been called a press covey after a covey of quail. The quail is a timid bird that hides in the fields and takes wing only to seek different cover when flushed. In the current administration we’re back to an aggressive press corps. These informal briefings might be named press murders because of their close resemblance to a murder of crows. A group of crows have been called a “murder” since the 15th century. This name has to do with the belief that the time that crows were vile creatures and they were associated with violent death. Crows are intelligent scavengers. The press corps has nothing to do with death, but they are scavengers that work as a group as crows do to achieve their oblique goal, to bring down President Trump. This has been made abundantly clear considering their treatment of Joe Biden. His briefings ought to be termed a press flight with their resemblance to a flight of doves. The press corps couldn’t be more compliant or gentle with “poor old Joe” if they tried. I wonder why? Are they worried? There are no hard questions, no queries about past positions which have changed recently. Boy, have they changed? Any comparison would cause whiplash if you tried to keep up with Joe’s policies. No interest in what the future may bring under a Biden presidency; just the same old “it won’t be Trump and that’s good enough”. Is it just me or does that really sound like people searching for the truth? I think not.
And another thing Joe Biden’s policies and Democrat party’s by extension are taking American women backwards. Both talk as if President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan is code for we’re going back to the 50’s and 60’s. When in reality his plan has moved all people forward regardless of their race or gender. Much to the chagrin of the left. It’s Joe and Kami’s plan that have moved people back toward the “good old days”. Biden’s Covid show or should I say slow opening policy is setting back the women’s movement decades, and not a word from women’s groups. “NOW” where are you? Can you hear the silence? Not surprising just like the “Me Too Movement” when it comes to this campaign. This has been happening since the beginning of the pandemic to low income essential workers without child-care particularly women of color. The Democrats only mentioned this on occasions when virtue signaling, and then crickets! Now, it’s impacting higher income women that have been able to work from home. There is a quiet, but effective effort in many companies to re-introduce the mommy rule into corporate America. This is being ignored by the Democrats, because they believe sacrifices must be made in order to get rid of Trump. As long as it doesn’t affect them or their 1%. We can take it on the chin. There will be no luxuries for “the little people” like groceries, prescriptions, or money for rent. Unlike the economy returning from a recession these jobs are gone, filled by men. Women will have to start all over again in lower positions, making less money, because their previous jobs no longer exist. While the president is trying to open the economy up. Biden and the Democrats are doing their best to sow fear and keep the economy closed until after the election because they believe it helps their chances. It’s politics as usual at the expense of women. If Biden is elected this will change and rather quickly. Joe will have a plan (which is no different than Trump’s) and his minions in the media will tout it as a game changer. All will be well. If you can believe that. Joe couldn’t manage an organ grinder and a monkey. For you, millennials that’s only two items. You can count on this, no matter what happens Joe will get a pass, because he has a “D” after his name. Now that’s accurate and unbiased journalism. Why would I be surprised? We haven’t seen any of that in decades. Do you find this Troubling? Well I do!
