Like some of you, I’ve been reading the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force recommendations. If even a faction of these fantasies were enacted, we would see a fundamental change to our country. Unfortunately, this is exactly what the left has in mind. They would enlarge the federal government to a level here to unforeseen much less imagined. The concept of the states as the laboratory of democracy vanished as the federal government inexorably gathers up all power unto itself. The Task Force uses words like streamline, or accelerate and phrases such as immediate action, or cutting red tape to imply swift movement toward their utopian goal, but this belies the rest of the documents wording. It’s filled with one reference after another to commissions, regulations, Executive Orders, create inter-agency working groups, and establishing committees to oversee all these projects. As we all know from the government we already have, much less the one they intend to give us, none of this will happen in a timely fashion. They also refer to re-establishing and re-enacting all the regulations that President Trump has done away with. The slow and cumbersome approval process of the past will become even worse since part of their plan is to make public sector unions even larger as stated in the Economic section. Once again, the left is not thinking of helping “the people” but helping themselves by creating a workforce beholden to them.
All the socialist who’ve published their vision of the future will be quick to label this a conspiracy theory which is typical. I would posit they have no room to for accusations after four years of the “Russia Collusion Hoax” without a scintilla of evidence. All of which was laid bare in front of Rep. Adam Schiftt’s House Intelligence Committee. None of the former administration officials had any evidence of collusion while under oath. Meanwhile they categorically stated night after night on television, they had this proof in hand. The same is true of the DNC computers which no government agency ever inspected. The DNC hired a company named Crowd Strike to analyze their system. The Crowd Strike CEO while under oath in front of the same committee stated, “that they could find no evidence of Russian intrusion” and this is important “no evidence of outside intrusion in the DNC system.” With this admission one can deduce that the release of DNC information came from within. Perhaps a disgruntle Sanders supporter? Still without an iota of evidence they continue to spew these outright lies because they believe the American people are just gullible enough to fall for it and with the help of their willing partners in the media they’re probably right.
The far left believes that Trump supporters are witless know-it-alls. Their problem lies in the fact that these idiot advocates of the president don’t understand that they, the far left, are the real, know-it-alls. For the past four or five years the left have made no effort to understand much less garner the support of the presidents’ admirers. They have looked upon them as inferior and therefore not worth the endeavor. This contempt for everyday Americans that share these ideals is palatable. They may pay lip serve to the unions, they gladly take campaign money from but, that like the black vote is short lived and seasonal. That appears it could be changing “in Joe Biden’s America”. In the Biden/Sanders Unity Task Force they are stating they will repeal “right to work” laws in states that have them. I’m guessing that “states’ rights” only applies to sanctuary cities or states. How silly of me, that won’t be necessary with open borders and citizenship for all. They also state that they will do away with all cash bail, so if someone is arrested and they are released immediately. How is that working in New York City where the crime rate according to the NYPD citywide crime statistics for the month of June are staggering. Shootings up 130%, Murders up 30%, Burglaries up 118%, Auto Theft up 51% and for the year 2020 crime in general is up a mind boggling 177%. Now, that’s where I want to go on vacation. Either there or maybe Beirut. This is what happens when criminals know they’re not going to jail! If you have children, you know what happens when there are no consequences for their actions. Criminal Justice Reform is necessary as is Police Reform but that does not mean you should gut system. Defunding police departments or, as Joe Biden euphemistically puts it “reallocating funding”, will only hurt the poorest among us. These poor neighborhoods are where crime is most prevalent thus where police are most needed. When asked people of color don’t want to see police departments defunded by a large majority. They want police reform, get rid of the “rouge” cops who are enabled by a system which has the police union and politicians it’s center. In my neighborhood we almost never see the police because there is very little crime. At the end July or the beginning of August the Milwaukee Police Department announced that it would be unable to provide adequate security for the Democrat National Convention. Why, you might ask? The Milwaukee city council passed an ordinance that prohibited the use of crowd control measures such as tear gas and pepper spray. Other police departments which had committed to participate in the security of the convention refused to allow their officers to be put in danger in that fashion. As it turned out Covid was a convenient excuse for not having a convention that they couldn’t secure in the first place.
Well back to these “Recommendations” a term they use repeatedly but that is clearly not what they are. There is mention of in every section of withholding funding from states that do not comply. A tactic when used by Trump they decry as unlawful bullying and unconstitutional, but I’m guessing quite appropriate when used by them. There are statements about investments by the federal government in all sections with not a mention of where this capital will come from. They could confiscate all the money from all the top one percent the country’s wealthiest individuals, and it wouldn’t put a dent in this spending list. As I’ve said in previous posts, they will just print more money. The value of the dollar will continue to fall. This combined with an economy mired in the red tape which is bound to be followed by investments drying up and we’ll be back to the languid one to two percent growth of the Obama era. I’m sure you remember the “new normal” we were told about back then, and that America was in decline. Look at the European countries with government-controlled economies and two percent growth to them is a banner year.
This is not about giving everybody a better life. It’s about making everybody “equal.” An equally wretched existence. For you, millennials, just wait. You’ll see it in your lifetime. As we descend into a morass of higher taxes for all, unemployment, shortages of all kinds, anarchy, and finally totalitarianism you’ll see the error of that you’ve bought with this idea of equal outcomes. Be careful what you wish for. I hope you find this troubling!!!
