Once again, the media is exaggerating the divide in our country by stating that the conviction of Derrick Chauvin is perceived by some as unjust. The mainstream media asks questions like “how will this conviction be received in our divided country”. Our country is not divided on this subject. As a conservative I know no one who feels that way. As a construction worker I am one of the people that the media portrays as those with a dumb uncomprehending gaze of the not yet enlightened. Yet not once have I heard anybody say that George Floyd got what he deserved or that Derrick Chauvin did the right thing. It is the media’s constant attempt to inject controversary into this topic that is fanning the discontent. Now amazingly enough the President and Vice President are contributing to this imagined split by painting with a broad brush all police as racist. When the President speaks of institutional racism as if he were not part of that institution, it is pure chutzpah. Having been in Washington for 50 years, he has participated in the formulation of those very policies he is now condemning. In fact, given the current “Cancel Culture” on the left, if the President were a Republican, he would be demonized for attending the former Exalted Cyclops of his Klavern in the Klu Klux Klan Senator Robert Byrd’s funeral. Alas no such demonization will occur because in a Democrat that behavior is not racist that is honoring a statesman. Byrd the same statesman who filibustered The Civil Rights Act of 1964, and The Voting Rights Act of 1965. Byrd voted against the confirmation of Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court in 1967. The first black man to serve on the Supreme Court. This is the man Joe Biden called a mentor and a friend in his eulogy at the man’s funeral. By today’s standards that statement alone is grounds for “Cancelation”.
But let us not dwell on the past. Let us look at mister “I’ll bring the nation together” Joe Biden. There has been precious little if any of that in the first 100 days of this Presidency. There has been no bipartisanship just the same old constant progressive litany of what is wrong with this country and the banal bromide “that’s not who we are”. Take institutional racism for instance; if this does exist then, “that is who we are”. In a broader sense, we then live in a society created by the very people who are now condemning that which they created. Extrapolating on that point, over the past 88 years from 1933 to 2021 the Democrats have been in the majority in the House for 64 years and in the Senate for 62 years. So the next question should be who enacted all these “racist” policies? That would be the Democrats – the party of Jim Crowe! Now the party of Joe Biden who has said his name is on every Anti-Crime Bill since he entered the Senate. Our major cities are in disarray and all are run by Democrats who seem surprised when the guidelines they have turned a blind eye to for the past 50 to 60 years are now causing riots. Their constant catchphrase is “it’s the Police Departments fault”. So, they fire the Chief of Police who is just following standards put in place and approved by a Democrat city government. Their sudden epiphany is wholly transparent as if there have not been calls for reform for the past 150 years in all these cities. Of course, our beloved media who supported every one of these proposals in the past are now blaming all of this on the police specifically and the right in general with no bases in fact.
Recently a 15-year-old black girl was shot and killed by a white police officer. The headlines said nothing about the fact that she was about to stab another young black girl with a knife. The officer in fact saved the 2nd girl’s life. The White House decried the story as just another case of out-of-control police brutality without one word about the facts of the knife or a girl’s life being saved. Some pundits on the left have said that the officer should not have intervened. The fact that the officer was called to the scene apparently makes no difference. I would venture the 2nd girl’s mother who was saved does not share that opinion. I have come to believe that this Administration thrives on the chaos it is creating because they consider the mantra “never let a crisis go to waste” compelling. They are allowing immigration and race to foment into a disaster of epic proportions, thus producing their new boggy man now that Trump is longer on the scene. They seem to think they profit from an angry and upset black community on the left and conversely, they can claim racism on the immigration on the right. I do not think a race war is out of the question anymore. I contend that is their objective. It is the vehicle that would permit them to suspend the Constitution temporarily and institute changes that would be far reaching and permanent thus securing their enduring hold on power. This is their objective to be achieved by any means necessary. They are in the process of creating the circumstances that will bring about the downfall of the greatest nation on earth. China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea do not have to lift a finger. We will do this to ourselves. The query should be will we allow this to transpire. The answer is I do not know. We permit these self-indulgent, vapid, hypocrites we have elected to do as they please in our names with no repercussions because of their party affiliation. The American people are too lazy and uninformed to realize when they are being misled. Are you concerned because I am.?
